The Mighty 5: Utah’s Spectacular National Parks
Utah boasts some of the most incredible landscapes, it’s no wonder its five national parks are deemed the “Mighty 5”. Each one very unique and different from the next. The five National Parks are: Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and Arches. I was very lucky to be able to visit all five this past summer. My visit was during July (2018) and after spending a year living in Orlando, I thought I’d adjusted quite well to the heat. I was wrong. During my time in Utah temperatures were around 35-40 degrees (celsius) and visiting these National Parks in the heat is something you need to be prepared for, whether…

2018 My Year In Review
I’m not sure if many people read these year in review blogs, but I love them. I like seeing what other people/travellers were up to and it’s a nice way to look back on what you did each year. 2018 was by far one of the busiest and best years of my life. I started the new year literally in Walt Disney World. I celebrated by drinking cocktails in Hollywood Studios and watched the Epcot fireworks from the Boardwalk. Travel Stats For 2018: Hotels stayed in: 14 Hostels stayed in: 3 Countries lived in: 2 Countries Visited: 4 Nights slept in a tent: 11 Nights slept in a native hogan:…

Visiting The Picturesque Town Of Quebec City
I recently came back from a 5-day trip to Montreal to visit my friend Laura. I was really eager to get in a visit to Quebec City. After much searching online, I made the decision to book a guided tour. You can get to Quebec City via bus and train but it costs the exact same as booking a one-day tour. Maybe the cost of a bus or train would be worth it if you were staying for a few days but I only had time for a day trip. Our tour was supposed to start at 8am; we were put behind by 30 minutes because the hotel shuttle was…

A City Girl Eats: Montreal, Quebec
A City Girl Eats: Montreal This past month I visited Montreal for the first time. I was pretty excited to see what Quebec offers in terms of food and I was not disappointed. Poutine I’d never heard of poutine and had no idea what it was when I first moved to Canada. I guess it’s just like cheesey chips and gravy, for anyone who’s from the UK. But poutine is different, it’s cheese curds and they have to be fresh! If they don’t squeak in your mouth, it’s not a good poutine. After waiting two years to try my first poutine I finally did so in Quebec, and it was…

5 Reasons Why Philadelphia Is My Favourite City In The U.S.
When I first added Philadelphia to my East Coast itinerary I initially only did so because I really wanted to see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. I hadn’t researched the city at all; I made the huge assumption that Philadelphia was just full of crime and honestly thought there was nothing here. Well I was wrong on so many levels, a quick search of Trip Advisor and I found tons! In less than 48 hours the city had me falling in love with it. A Rocky Start It all started with a more than memorable greyhound bus journey… I booked our greyhound from D.C. for 10:30am. It’s about 3-4…

Camping Overnight Inside Monument Valley
Day 5 of my G Adventures tour saw us saying goodbye to Moab and hello to a 3-hour bus ride. We started our day with a visit to Arches National Park and after a sweltering hot morning we started our journey to Monument Valley. This would be our last full day in Utah. It had been amazing Utah is absolutely stunning. Halfway through our journey we stopped at a small town called Bluff. Here we had soft serve ice cream from the Bluff Historic Fort. I had to eat it so quick because it was around 45 degrees today. “I’m tired, I think I’ll go home now” Driving along the…

Route 66: Williams & Seligman, Arizona
Built in 1926, Route 66 is the ultimate American road trip route. Originally starting in Chicago and ending in Santa Monica. During my G Adventures Canyon Country & Coasts tour, we managed to do a couple of pit stops along Route 66. Williams, AZ After packing up and saying goodbye to the Grand Canyon, we arrived in the nearby town of Williams. Pulling into Williams was like stepping back in time to the 1950’s. It was everything you’d expect a town on Route 66 to be, full of diners and old style shops. We began our short visit at a coffee shop called Brewed Awakenings. There are very few chain…

25 Things To Do In Whistler, Canada

Here are some of my favourite activities… The Peak 2 Peak gondola Ride the Guinness world record-breaking peak 2 peak gondola. Connecting whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, get a 360 view with mountains in every direction. Wait in line for the glass bottom gondolas to get a birds eye view of the valley below. A City Girl Hikes: The Grand Canyon’s Rim Trail
A City Girl Hikes: The Grand Canyon’s Rim Trail In July this year I returned to the Grand Canyon for a second time. This time I was spending two nights here camping with my G adventures group. On my previous visit back in April, we were on a day tour from Las Vegas. So had minimal time here, considering the 3-4 hour drive either way. So this time around I got to experience far more. Upon arriving to the Grand Canyon, Lindsey our tour guide insisted we put paper bags over our heads. I started to wonder if it was because I was makeup-free today, but no, it was for…

A City Girl Hikes: The Hollywood Sign
One of the most popular things tourists want to do when visiting Los Angeles, is visiting the Hollywood sign. Everyone wants to get as close to it as they possibly can. And it’s possible to get pretty close too. But if there was one thing I took from doing this hike, it’s to be less of a tourist and do more research. July this year saw the end of my Disney Cultural Representative Program. My last few days were hectic, trying to figure out what to do with my 7 suitcases of Disney merch. The same day I moved out of my apartment I flew to Los Angeles to spend…
