5 Of Whistler’s Best Coffee Shops

Who loves coffee? I love coffee! I start most mornings with a cup of coffee but nothing beats freshly ground espresso, and I’ve spent a lot of my time here in Whistler in it’s coffee shops. Whistler is a small community, but we still love our coffee just as much. You won’t have to look far to find a coffee shop here, but perhaps the best and lesser known places, could be harder to come across. Here are 5 of Whistler’s best coffee shops, and my personal favourites.

CAMP Coffee

CAMP Coffee (Coffee And Mindful Products) gets the number 1 spot, and will always be number 1 for me! This cute hidden gem is located in the Function Junction neighbourhood of Whistler. At first glance Function Junction may just look like a boring Industrial Site (and some of it is) but it’s also frequented by lots of locals as it’s far quieter than the Village. We stumbled upon this Coffee Shop while in Function Junction one day, one sip and we were hooked. We’re now some of their most frequent customers. It also helps that there’s very rarely a line (hello, Starbucks).

CAMP also offers a retail store where they only stock products that are made in North America, or by companies that support sustainable, ethical or humanitarian initiatives.

Pure Bread

Pure Bread is another favourite among locals. This company was first established in Whistler at the Farmer’s Markets and they’ve since opened a further three stores in Vancouver. Pure Bread offers freshly prepared cakes, pastries bread and more. It’s known to most people primarily as a bakery, but what is coffee without cake? Their selection changes daily, which is a great excuse for a return visit! They also offer a small selection of gluten free and vegan options. Grab a coffee with your homity pie (amazing, trust me) and watch the world go by.

Portobello

Portobello is located in the Upper Village section of Whistler and is part of the Fairmont Chateau. This cafe offers lunch and dinner options, a bar, a grab and go section and a coffee & pastry counter. Portobello offers family style seating in a rustic, modern alpine setting. Here you’ll find some of the best donuts in Whistler – you seriously need to try them! Portobello has inside and outside seating, I like to grab a coffee on the patio with a donut in hand, yum!

Mogul’s Coffee House

Mogul’s Coffee House is located smack bang in the middle of Whistler Village, just across from the Grocery Store. There are a few chain store coffee shops in this area (guess who) but you should just keep walking by and go to Mogul’s instead – you won’t regret it! This Cafe & Coffee shop offers not only coffee but a freshly made selection of sandwiches, toasties and amazing smoothies! Their smoothies are gluten free, vegan friendly and a refreshing change on a hot day. Mogul’s provides their customers with compostable, cups, lids, containers and utensils.

Mount Currie Coffee Co

Tucked away just behind the Village Stroll is Mount Currie Coffee. Established in Pemberton in 2007, the company later opened a location in Whistler in 2012. Mount Currie Coffee has since been voted the “Best Coffee” by Pique Magazine 4 years in a row. Try their “Canadiano” – A Canadian Delight! Latte with a shot of maple syrup.

Most of these coffee shops offer an amazing view too – what’s not to love? If you are visiting passing through or visiting for a few days, make sure to make time for coffee at one of these 5 best coffee shops in Whistler.
