5 Things To Do Off The Las Vegas Strip
5 Things To Do Off The Las Vegas Strip
Before visiting Las Vegas for the first time at the age of 21, everything I knew about the place was based off the Hangover movies. My first visit was amazing, I loved the vibe, the clubs, bars, everything. Fast forward a few years and I just took my 7th visit in July this year. Having done most of what Vegas has to offer I’ve started venturing off the strip. Here are a few different ideas for your next trip to Vegas.
-
Atomic Testing Museum
The Atomic Testing Museum documents the history of nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site. One of the exhibits even simulates the experience of an nuclear test. This is a really interesting piece of Nevada’s history. You’ll also find an area dedicated to area 51.
-
Erotic Heritage Museum
Stay with me here…
I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and it’s not somewhere you’d take your mum (or maybe it is? Who knows) But if you’re going with a group of friends, or a bachelorette trip, I think this place would be great. I found it hilarious and you really have to go with an open mind. For anyone who has been to Amsterdam and visited that museum (you know the one) this is somewhat tamer. Hey, you’re already in the city of sin, you may as well go all out!
-
Freemont Street Experience
A lot of people don’t like Fremont Street but I think it’s great! Sure it’s not as nice or as clean as the strip, but in my opinion they are both just as tacky. Fremont Street is more laid back, and everything is cheaper. You’re going to look the same drunk whether you’re at the Mandalay Bay or The Golden Nugget so you might as well save some $$$.
If you want to be an even bigger tourist, have your photo taken with a million dollars at Binions, visit the world’s biggest golden nugget, and kiss the blarney stone (you’ll probably want to wash your mouth after).

Visit The Hard Rock Live
I visited Vegas a few years for my birthday with my sister, she bought me tickets to see Motley Crue, a band I’ve wanted to see since I was 14. It was my first time seeing any band in Vegas but the Hard Rock Live is just one of many venues.

Visit the Grand Canyon
This past April I made my first visit to the Grand Canyon. I was in town with my boyfriend for my sisters wedding. Having both been to Vegas several times there wasn’t much we wanted to see. I booked us a tour to finally see the Grand Canyon. Tours can be booked with Gray Line, who are one of my favourite tour companies.
