5 Of Whistler’s Best Coffee Shops

5 Of Whistler’s Best Coffee Shops Who loves coffee? I love coffee! I start most mornings with a cup of coffee but nothing beats freshly ground espresso, and I’ve spent a lot of my time here in Whistler in it’s coffee shops. Whistler is a small community, but we still

5 Must Try Coffee Houses In Vienna That Will Fulfil Your Sweet Tooth

Anyone that knows me will know I have the world’s biggest sweet tooth. Give me a pretty patisserie and I’m all over it. So naturally I spent a fair bit of my time in Vienna doing just that – fulfilling my sweet tooth! The coffee culture in Vienna is completely

A City Girl Eats: Montreal, Quebec

A City Girl Eats: Montreal This past month I visited Montreal for the first time. I was pretty excited to see what Quebec offers in terms of food and I was not disappointed. Poutine I’d never heard of poutine and had no idea what it was when I first moved

A City Girl Eats: New Orleans

I’d always been curious about Creole and Cajun food but never had the chance to truly try it. I’d tried gumbo once while on vacation in Florida and it wasn’t good. I must admit the word “gumbo” just doesn’t sound good to me. If there was one place that could

A City Girl Eats: Cancun, Mexico

I have adored Mexican food ever since I started exploring the Hispanic & Latino neighbourhoods of California. For the longest time “Ol Del Paso” was my only experience of Mexican food. Fast-forward a few years and it’s now one of my favourite cuisines. When I told my Mexican roommate I

About me

Welcome to A City Girl Outside blog! My names Rachael, a girl from London who left the UK in 2016 in pursuit of adventure. I now call British Columbia, Canada home. Having left my comfort zone I've learned to ski, snowmobile, fish, and climb mountains. In the past 4 years I've spent a year working for Walt Disney World, became a Canadian permanent resident and moved to Australia. Thanks for reading!

Ticked dogsledding off my Whistler bucket list yesterday - the dogs were awesome and loved people (and yes well looked after) My favourite dog was Toledo, who was super chill but said to have a temper and doesn’t like other dogs, I think he is my spirit animal 🐕

2020 took away many things for me as it did for many. But I gained much more. I made new forever friends, walked back into a stable job during a period when jobs are hard to come by and learned to appreciate the things in life I already have instead of focusing on things I don’t have.

I’m lucky to live somewhere beautiful that makes getting outside so easy. I’m thankful for my health and my families health, and thankful to have the best husband ever who supports me in everything I do. Even when I tell him I’m going traveling for a year.

I may not have spent my birthday swimming in the Great Barrier Reef like I planned but we already have many adventures planned for 2021 that don’t involve leaving the country - so here’s hoping the new year is better for everyone! Happy New Year! 🥂 🍾
