When looking for the perfect outdoor apparel, it’s essential to consider if it is lightweight, durable and performance-oriented. With nearly 40 years of experience crafting amazing gear for exploration, adventure and playtime outside, I tried out some staples for myself.

The KÜHL TREKR™ pants are designed specifically with women in mind. Not only are they super durable, but they are stylish too, which makes them great not only for active pursuits but travelling or every day use.

I tend to choose leggings or yoga pants while hiking, but the KÜHL TREKR™ pant has converted me! These pants are incredibly easily to move in, especially on steep terrain. They are super breathable and don’t hold moisture.

The KÜHL TREKR™ pants have converted me from my typical hiking leggings and yoga pants! These hiking pants provide unparalleled ease of movement, especially on on steep inclines. They are highly breathable and dry quickly – making them the perfect choice for your next hike.

Some of my favourite features include the internal waist drawcord, which helps ensure these pants never slide or fall, which I often have issues with when hiking in leggings. It was actually so nice not to have to stop my hike every ten minutes to pull my pants up!

Although I would not recommend these for winter hiking or snowy conditions, they do hold up well in colder weather. This is all dependent on where you live and trail conditions.

I put these pants to the test in Whistler, where temperatures tend to be colder than other locations. Not only did they hold up well against cooler temps and rain, but when I slipped on ice and landed squarely on my knees – much to my surprise – there was no damage to the pants!

The pants are roomy enough that you can also fit a thin base layer underneath if you are planning any winter hikes. If you’re more of a summer hiker, these pants convert into capris. Their lightweight nature and versatility makes them perfect hot warmer days too!

This Merino blend was meticulously crafted for optimal performance and naturally resists odour. This stylish pullover features a funnel neck design and waist-length fit for extra warmth and comfort, whether used as a base layer or stand alone piece.

This shirt is great for all kinds of outdoor adventures, from summer all the way through to winter. The Merino wool blends ensures regulation of body temperature, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.

As this shirt is so versatile it can be worn year-round. I find some base layers to be very see-through and therefore not great to wear as a standalone hiking top. This shirt however is relatively opaque which means it’s great to wear as a single layer in the summer months. I also love the colour!

The KÜHL AGILITY™ PULLOVER shirt features raglan sleeves to allow freedom of movement without restriction and I love that the fit is loose enough to allow extra breathability.

This top is truly remarkable! Not only does it make a great base layer, but looks amazing by itself. It’s lightweight yet warm and breathable fabric ensures your comfort while its flattering fit keeps you feeling confident all day long.

The fabric washes well and dries quickly when hung up – making this top one of my favourite hiking staples!
